This song was played over
and over
and over
and over again by me this summer.
It just seemed to couple perfectly with how I spent my summer.
At the beach.
I'd play it on the way down to the beach.
I'd play it on the way back from the beach.
I'd even sometimes play it at the beach.
But yes. I practically spent my entire summer down at the beach. I love everything about the beach, except maybe the seaweed.
I love the warmth of the sand.
I love the warmth of the sun.
I love the sound of humanity taking a few hours out of their busy lives, to congregate at the edge of the continent, just to relax.
I love the water, and how free you feel when you're diving under waves, or just floating along just past the breakers.
I love the feeling of having the world at your feet.
I also don't mind getting myself a bit of a tan, which will hopefully last me through the longwinter coming up.
Summer for me, is a time where life slows down, you take a bit of a break from the year just past, and gather your thoughts for the year ahead. It's a time to catch up with old friends. It's a time to consolidate friendships. It's a time for self discovery.
It's a time, just to be.
And this summer, I had a good summer.
The last day of summer is tomorrow. Tomorrow is also the first day of uni.
In my opinion, it's the best way to end a perfect summer. The first day is stressless, people catch up, you get used to being back on campus.
It's the goldilocks zone of university life.
In summary, I'm excited to be going back to uni, and I had an awesome summer.
Fingers crossed the rest of the year goes down like my summer did.
